Introduction

PySubLib is a subtitle library written in Python, the purpose of which is to easy the development of subtitling applications. It provides a high-level interface for reading/parsing and writing various subtitle formats.

Prerequisites

PySubLib is being developed under Python 2.6, although it might work with Python 2.5 too. It needs Universal Encoding Detector (chardet) in order to run. It is used for automatic file encoding detection.
